Chris Hillman - Have You Seen Her Face

Junto com Gram Parsons, Chris Hillman foi uma figura chave no desenvolvimento do country-rock, definindo o gênero através dos Byrds (estava na formação original com Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark, David Crosby, e Michael Clarke), Flying Burrito Brothers e mais tarde o Desert Rose Band. Começou tocando bandolim em bandas de Bluegrass (The Scottsville Squirrel Barkers, The Hillmen), nos Byrds era baixista e fez vários vocais como emHave You Seen Her Face, uma entre várias composições de sua autoria. O disco ‘Sweetheart Of The Rodeo’ dos Byrds com Gram Parsons na banda foi fundamental para a criação do country-rock. Após deixarem os Byrds, Parsons e Hillman formaram o Flying Burrito Brothers e seguiram essa linha combinando a energia, instrumentação e atitude do rock’n’ roll com algumas questões e temas da música country, onde a pedal steel guitar de Sneaky Pete Kleinow rasgava canções como Christine's Tune eSix Days On The Road. Hillman teve muitas outras participações em discos e bandas ligados ao country e rock, como Souther-Hillman-Furay Band, Manassas de Stephen Stills e grandes álbuns solo, canções como It's Happening To You e Don't e Let Your Sweet Love Die são de arrepiar. Uma das melhores versões deTomorrow Is a Long Time de Bob Dylan também é dele.
